I love this song. What a great story to adapt. The characters are clear. Child, mother, father. The father has died and the mother is sad (obviously). My favorite part about this is the child's reaction. The child is almost more sad for the mother than he is for himself.
ReplyDeleteOne note. The speaker of this song doesn't have to be Luther Vandross. He's just the singer. The speaker could be anyone. A girl. A snake. Anyone.
I love this song, but I have never really understood it. After reading your post, I see that the man used to dance with his father when he was little. Thanks for explaining! I also really love your themes and wish more people realized how important family is.
