It's Overwhelming (2nd draft from "to many clothes")
It's overwhelming to come up with the words
to express how you feel
overwhelming like a mother
searching for a lost child
the pen starts to write
at first the mother is irritated
you are still at the lost for words
the irritation turns to panick
the words seem so far gone
panicked, tears flowing, words mumbling
she asked around and looks for the lost child
at the lowest point
when you are about to give up
the words come, as if they were there the entire time
the child runs into her mothers arms
the mother hugs her child with more love than ever
the page
the moment
the words
becomes peaceful

ReplyDeleteSo true. I love that you captured the irritation before the panic. It's annoying first, and then it's scary.
Great connection between the mother finding her daughter and the poet finding the right words. Peace comes to both of them. Good job.
dddaannnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggggggg. that is such an awesome comparision! i have never heard it before. you're very creative. we've all had writers block and i love how you capture the feeling in such a original way. love it!
ReplyDeleteI love this poem because I feel like I can connect to it. The metaphor is so clear and perfect for what you are trying to convey. Also I like how you switch back and forth but I never get lost or confused. Great job!
ReplyDeletenice poem! its so true how you said its hard to come up with the words of how you feel sometimes. I also like how the story by the end turned to peaceful. Good job.
